Overview

Twister Air leverages augmented reality to deliver a new-spin on the classic 1960s game.  Instead of a mat, the box includes 8 colorful Twister Air bands and a device stand that works for any smartphone or tablet.

Players twist their body to match their bands to the colored spots on screen. Reach, swipe, clap, and strike crazy poses. The more spots hit, the higher the score. For 1+ players

Design and development

I was part of a small team that brought an early game concept from a prototype to a multi-national commercial product.  I was responsible for level, game, mechanic, and UX design.  Level design covered 16 levels across 4 game modes (solo, dual, multiplayer, and accessibility) Game design included bigger picture items like game loops, difficulty, fun-ness, replayability, and player constraints.  Mechanics ranged from the design of a basic moveset to in-game events to scoring. With the gameplay being in augmented reality, this presented several UX design decisions to enable both motion and touch-screen controls.
